You're not a maverick

John McCain & Sarah Palin are not mavericks.

I was just reminded of something that is appropriate for John & Sarah given their claim of being mavericks.

It's from Jello Biafra and the Dead Kennedys' "MTV Get Off The Air":

"You've got a lot of nerve to call yourself a pioneer when you're to god damn conservative to take real chances."

Debate of only 2 people?

What's wrong with this country where we need to have people represent us in our government and the recent "debates" only feature 2 of the candidates running for president and vice president? Granted, that these are the candidates presented are the most likely to win the race, but isn't that partly because they are the only candidates who are regularly presented as our choice in the bulk of the media and elsewhere?

It appears to me that the illusion of choice is at work here. Pick any of these 2 that you want is what is presented, but where are the other options for us?

I'm not as concerned about whether someone is a Washington D.C. insider or not, but I'm not going to vote for an outsider who is not knowledgeable, intelligent, or prepared to run for office, let alone hold the office of president or vice president. Yes, that means I will not be voting for McCain/Palin.

Obama has my vote for sure.

However, I'd like a better candidate than Obama, but I'm not sure who would be better.

It would be great to have lots of information about the other candidates who are running for office.
